Alireza Soleimani Karbalaei was an Iranian super heavyweight freestyle wrestler. He was the first and, to date, the only Iranian to win the gold medal in the Superheavy Weight of Freestyle Wrestling, which he won at the World Championship 1989 against Bruce Baumgartner. He was the flag bearer of the Iranian Olympic Team at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games.
