He was an underwater explorer and filmmaker, has produced over 45 films since 1989 including television documentaries, live television specials, 3D IMAX films and the 3D feature film “Sanctum” with Executive Producer James Cameron. Andrew Wight has been honored with the Australian Geographic Society Spirit of Adventure Awards in 1989. On February 4, 2012, he was killed in a helicopter crash near the town of Nowra in Australia. The crash also claimed the life of American filmmaker Mike deGruy.
