He was a popular English footballer who played for position defender. During his professional football career he played for several teams including Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bristol City and Wrexham. Showell died after collapsing in a Sainsbury’s supermarket in the north Wales town, where he was on a shopping trip with his wife Gwen.
