Gerry was a gregarious man who had many admirable qualities. He was much more than just a football star. He was a husband, married for over 40 years to a wonderful woman, a father of 2 remarkable sons, and a much loved grandfather. He was my father-in- law for over 20 years and I wish I had gotten to know him better. Geographical distance kept us from seeing him very often, but he was always in our thoughts. He was a generous and compassionate man with a positive disposition and he will be missed by many.
