Biography
James Walker Benét He was an American journalist, poet, author and one of the few surviving veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War. He was alsoo a founder of the Saturday Review of Literature and teacher of journalism at San Francisco State College and UC Berkeley. After graduated from the Stanford University he worked for the New Republic magazine. Benét died in Santa Rosa on December 16, 2012. The cause of death was the infirmities of old age.
