He was a legendary Canadian sports broadcaster. He started his career in journalism at the Cape Breton Post in 1940. Throughout his career Connolly worked as a broadcaster in CJCB Radio in Sydney, CJCH Radio, CBC television, CJCH television, and CFDR and CHNS radio and the Halifax Daily News. He died on November 27, 2012 of cancer.
