He came to fame in the 1950s as one half of the comic duo Johnny and Rijk. His partner, Johnny Kraaijkamp, died in July.
De Gooyer was a also an acclaimed film actor. Between 1979 and 1985 he appeard in twenty Dutch films, winning a Golden Calf as best actor in Hoogste Tijd and Madelief. In 1982 he was awarded the lifetime achievement Golden Calf.
He continued working through the 1990s, appearing in the tv series Taxi and in a series of popular commercials.
