He was an Oldenburg composer. Schmidt-Kowalski graduated from the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Berlin where he studied composition. He represented New Romantic style. With his new style of composition was successful than many modern composers, although he struggled throughout his life with the skepticism of composers conductors. Passed away on January 5, 2013 after a long illness in Oldenburg.
