He was a producer, writer and BBC radio presenter. Throughout his career he created two classic radio serials: Riders of the Range and Journey Into Space. He was also known as a producer and writer who inspired the stage show and film Oh, What A Lovely War! He married Penny and they had together three children, Anthony, Mary and David. Chiltonm passed away on January 2, 2013 from pneumonia at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead.
