He was an Indian eminent photo-journalist and father of actress Antara Mali. During his professional career he worked for the magazine Cine Blitz in 1980s. He photographed numerous popular persons, including actress Rekha, actor Aamir Khan, actress and social activist Kavita Radheshyam, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Nina Gupta, Manoj Bajpai and many others. Mali died at the Nanavati hospital in Mumbai, on May 13, 2013. He was in his 60s.
