He was an American poet and teacher. York was an associate professor of English at the University of Colorado Denver. He also wrote three books including Murder Ballads, A Murmuration of Starlings and Persons Unknown. Throughout his career won several interesting awards including Elixir Prize in Poetry, Colorado Book Award in Poetry, and others. York died after a stroke on December 16, 2012 in Denver, Colorado.
