He was an American pianist, vocalist, R&B singer and songwriter. McCracklin was best known for his dance hit, "The Walk" which he recorded for Checker Records with his band, the Blues Blasters. During his career he released more than 20 albums. He passed away on December 20, 2012 in the San Francisco Bay Area after a long illness.
