He was known as an Indian Bengali film and TV show director. Dasgupta directed several popular serials, including Sishirer Swapno, Kuasha Jakhon and Tithir Atithi. Dasgupta passed away following cardiac arrest after long battle with cancer at a private hospital, on December 21, 2012.
