He was a Roman Catholic bishop. Leo Rajendram Antony was ordained a priest in Rome, in 1954 and in 1974 he was appointed as the Bishop of Trincomalee-Batticaloa Diocese. He was also appointed head of the monks of the Holy Rosary at the Tholagatty Ashram, in 1962 - it was a high point of his spritual career.
