He was an American artist of underground comics. Rodriguez was a pioneer of a new cartoon art form that became known as underground comics. He was also a founder of the Mission District murals movement. He worked for the Zap Comix, New York Times, Mother Jones and Hustler. He died of cancer at his home in San Francisco, on November 28, 2012.
