He was an Indian virtuoso, musician and composer who played the sitar. Shankar became famous thanks to his pupil who was a member of Beatles. He was known for the traditional music of his native country and its exotic sound of his musical instrument sitar. Shankar was a great artist. Died at hospital near his home, on December 11, 2012.
