He was a Sri Lankan lawyer, politician and diplomat. Throughout his professional career he also served as a Chairman of State Trading Wholesale Company Ltd., Chief Minister of the Western Provincial Council, a Sri Lankan Ambassador to Iran and he was a member of parliament, too.
