He was an American politician who was known as the longest-serving speaker of the House in Massachusetts history. Throughout his politician career he served also as a member of the Lynn, Massachusetts City Council and Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. McGee passed away on December 21, 2012 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
