Hekster was a popular Dutch composer, clarinetist and conductor who specialized in classical music. Graduated from the Amsterdam Conservatory, majoring in clarinet and composition. Later he was appointment for professor of clarinet and composition at Brandon University in Manitoba. Troughout his career he had a lot of success. Hekster passed away on December 31, 2012.
