Alexander Shemansky - Shemansky Alexander Leonidovich (1900-1976), singer (tenor). Disciple of Irkutsk Cadet Corps ,during the Civil War he was a Podporuchik on the eastern front. Then appeared in Harbin, where he began his studies at the soprano vocals Osipova-Zarzhevskoy, was the lead singer of opera at the Harbin , toured in Asia with the Italian opera troupe "Capri." Sang Radames in "Aida," Herman in "The Queen of Spades," Hoffmann's "Tales of Hoffmann," the Duke in "Rigoletto", Jose in "Carmen", Canio in "Pagliacci."

In 1936, in Harbin, gave a joint concert with F.Shaljapina. During the 1940's. sang in Shanghai and Harbin, after the war, moved to India, staged opera performances in Calcutta. In the 1960-ies. moved to the U.S., was the soloist in the Cossack choir and toured with him in the country. In the 1970-ies. taught singing in Los Angeles.
