This appears to be Bob Norment of the 24th signal service Battalion stationed at Fort Devins and later in Eta Jima Japan. He and I were freinds during our complete time in the Army. We went through Basic Training, the Signal Scool at Fort Monmouth NJ, and finally at Eta Jima Japan where we served as Instructors in Radio Teletype equipment that used the AN/GRC-26 mobile communications system. We had much good time in Japan during out breif stay there during the Korean War. We were both discharged at the end of 1951. We met berifly a couple of times after the war when I was on breif assignment in California. But after those meetings we drifted in our own directions. I beleive he was employed in the public school system in California in some capacity. I became an Electrical Engineer and worked for several Electronics companies involved with military electronics hardware. I worked until I was 75 and am now retired and living in Brunswick Maine. I am saddened that he has passed away. I have pleasant memories of our association in the army. Over the years I have often thought of him and think often of our Army experiences.
