Charles was my papa and I miss him dearly. I was pregnant for my second child when he passed away two days before my 30th birthday and was buried on my birthday. As I am now approaching my 50th birthday it is hard for me to believe he has been gone 20 years as I still think of him often and feel his presence with me always. I both loved and feared my grandfather as a child because he was a stern, strong German with a heart of gold in my eyes. I was his only granddaughter and was very spoiled by him as he and my meme raised me in my youth. If you were to ask me who I idolized growing up hands down I would have said my papa. As the anniversary of your death and my 50th birthday are approaching Papa I want you to know you are still my number one man and I love you dearly and miss you always. You and Meme better be saving me a spot on your fishing boat up there :) PS: I know you both helped to lead me to finding my biological father and I am so thankful for that. I love you both <3
