Arthur "Italino" Richard Altieri was my grandfather, but in my life, he was symbolically the father I should have had my mother could never appreciate in her own relationship which is very disturbing for our family. My grandfather was a man of honor, integrity, correctness in all that he did once a maker of shoes, sandals and other leather items he poured his heart into as he did my life and that of my grandmother, Madeline. I think of him each day when I wake up no matter what I have to endure from others never having in my life and his decency with his love for work, for food, cooking, the Jesuits and the true meaning of responsibility. My grandfather was my most significant mentor always first with my other grandfather (paternal) with my grandmother, Madeline, all now in heaven thankfully not here to see all that is truly a time of trouble my grandfather would never believe. My grandfather gave me a wonderful sense of valor and a love for myself with an education nobody can take from me of the Jesuits who mentored him as they do me today. I think of him daily as I look at the other family members in California who do not in any manner represent him, nor do they even honor him as I do and always did for his work, advice, great respect for me as a female and for others he supported in their academic life with his ongoing love for his family who could never appreciate him, nor display any grace, nor gratitude for his amazing energy I fortunately possess. I miss him terribly and know that he protects us from harm as he did when he was here although outsiders have tried to enter our lives, destroy our ALTIERI family, but know those strangers are not my grandfather and will never destroy us as a family he made us to be of decency unlike they when he died digging into our private matters and ALTIERI family items that are ours and only ours he taught us to value in our family nobody has any rights after his physical death. All they have done to me directly, I know you are always here with me and with the rest of us as you were once on earth in San Luis Obispo and know that you are with God as HE is with us you taught us to know well other will never coginitvely process.
