Henry E. Labine, Jr., Nashua

Henry E. 'Hank' Labine, Jr., 75, of Perry Avenue, Nashua, died Thursday evening, January 8th at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. A son of the late Henry E. and Octavie M. (Desmarais) Labine, Hank was born in Nashua on December 1, 1933.

Educated in local schools, Mr. Labine attended the former Brothers of Sacred Heart School of St. Louis de Gonzague Parish and was a graduate of Nashua High School, class of 1952. Hank furthered his education at Lowell Tech now known as the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. An Air Force veteran, Mr. Labine served for four years during the Korean War.

Hank married the former Marie J. Giroux of Chazy, NY on February 23, 1957.

Mr. Labine had been employed as an Electronic Field Engineer with Ford Aerospace at the New Boston Satellite Tracking Station for 30 years.

Hank was a communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church and held membership in the Knights of Columbus of St. Patrick Parish. An avid Horse shoe player, Hank was a member and past treasurer of the Gate City Clangers.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Labine was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph U. and Jeanne A. (Soucy) Labine; and a sister and brother-in-law, Nathalie C. and Winford V. 'Winnie' Mansfield.

Members of his family include his wife Marie, with whom he would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary next month; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Douglas Knott of Nashua; six grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Eric, Carolyn, Sarah and David Knott; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Leo and Theresa Giroux of Plattsburg, NY, Royal and Anita Giroux and Roger Giroux, all of Chazy, NY; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Fisher and Marguerite Collins and her husband Rodney, all of Chazy, NY; several nieces and nephews including, Dr. Paul U. Labine of Florida and Maurice J. Labine of Lexington, MA.

Services: calling hours will be held at the farwell funeral home, 18 lock street, nashua on monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. a mass of christian burial will be celebrated in st. louis de gonzague church, 48 west hollis street, nashua, tuesday morning at 11 a. m. interment will follow in st. louis cemetery. friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church. donations may be made in mr. labine's memory to the: seraphic mass association, 3600 butler street, pittsburgh, pa 15201-1893 phone# 1-877-737-9050 or to magdalen college, 511 kearsarge mountain road, warrner, nh 03278. arrangements are in the care of the farwell funeral service.
