Later on November 12th 1848 at the church of St Katherine's, Danzig Stadt, Westpreussen, Sybell Louise Vella married Otto Heinrich Moscal. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Thomas Wehle, which was dated July 1st 1576, was christened at Johnsdorf, Sachsen, Germany, during the reign of Emperor Maximillian 11, of the German Empire, 1564 - 1577. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax.
