This is my grandfather. He died 6/9/1978 after surviving a stroke. He was the son of parents Joe Gomery Sr and Anna (Csizek). Art married Teresa (Takats) on 11/8/1941. They lived in Norton Shores (Muskegon) Michigan. He had 4 children: Arthur Jr (1944), Maryanne (1945 and died 1. 5yrs later of pneumonia), gale (1948) and Richard ("Rocky" 1950, died abt 2018). He has 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, living near Muskegon, Chicago area and Detroit areas. He owned the Arthur Gomery real estate and insurance businesses in Muskegon before falling ill. He was also a part of Gomery Home Development Co which held 40 acres of land just south of Roosevelt Park area. He was a member of the Muskegon Lodge, (Moose lodge). One of my happiest childhood memories was sitting on the porch feeding the bluejays "peanuts" with him, since he liked nature (used to hunt and fish too). He had a sense of humor and liked to joke around. He worked hard and loved his family. He would often take us to the local beach down the street and we'd watch the freighters go by on Lake Michigan.
