Biography
Charles Welles Rosen He was an Americna pianist, polymath and author. Rosen was also a critic of music and other aspects of culture. He wrote several books. One of from tthese books "The Classical Style: Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven" won a National Book Award. He also worked as a professor at the University of Chicago, the State University of New York, the Stony Brook and at the Harvard University. Rosen died of cancer at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, on December 9, 2012.
