Biography

Congetta Poglese Congetta Poglese was my grandmother. She was married to Joseph Louis Poglese and had 4 children. Carmens Mary (Lawrence O. Swailes), Deva Marie (Wallter D. Babcock), Josephine (George Jewell) and Michael Poglese (Barbara). She and my grandfather owned a excavating company in Sault Ste.Marie, MI until passing it down to Ozzie, George and Mike. They had a cabin on Brimley Bay in the UP that was a weekend family reunion every weekend in the summer. It has been passed down to the grandkids. I can still her calling my younger brother and I to dinner when we were playing out in the woods behind the cabin “Stevie, Christie, spaghetti’s ready!” We had spaghetti with every meal as a side. One time a bat got inside the cabin and as we hid under the covers of our beds my grandpa was swinging wildly with a broom trying to get it out to no avail. It left on its own the next day.
