Biography
Franklin Pierce Lively was a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Lively received a Bacheloor of Arts from Centre College in 1943 and served as a Lieutenant (J.G.) in the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II, from 1943 to 1946. He received an Bachelor of Laws from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1948, and was a law clerk to Shackelford Miller, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit from 1948 to 1949. Lively was in private practice in Danville from 1949 to 1972.
