John Philip Willson, age 31, passed away early Friday morning, June 15, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Noel Bailey and Rev. Richard Tatum officiating. Interment was made in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.
Mr. Willson, a resident of Delta County most of his life, was born in Delta County, September 22, 1952, a son of Edd and Madeline Morgan Willson, Jr. He was self employed as a welder and served in the United States Navy. On November 25, 1980, he married Debbie Hahn and they made their home in Paris.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Debbie Willson of Paris; a daughter, Jaye P. Willson of Paris; his mother Mrs. Madeline Willson of Cooper; two step-children, Carey Burnett and Jamie Burnett, both of Paris; two brothers, Bobby Edd Willson of Misquite and Jeff Willson of Commerce; five sisters, Mrs. Jacque Spratling of San Diego, Ca., Mrs. Judy Gregory of Fort Worth, Mrs. Nancy McFadden of Moore, Oklahoma, Mrs. Karol Fisher of Bedford, and Mrs. Janie Gillean of Mesquite; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edd Willson, Jr., July 9, 1976.
Pallbearers were Jerry Bailey, Glenn Hahn, Jerry Hahn, Joe Loftin, Wesley Saey and James Wesley Scott.
