I met Miss Julia in her 87th year and knew her to the end of her life. She possessed integrity, great intelligence and wit. She loved this country dearly and remained active in county politics through her early 90's - she voted the first year women received the vote. A mix of modern and Victorian in manner, she was "the last of the great ladies." It was an honor and privilege to have been her friend.
