Biography
Lars Valter Hörmander He was a Swedish mathematician. He graduated at the University of Lund, Sweden. His works: Linear Partial Differential Operators, An Introduction to CComplex Analysis in Several Variables, Implicit Function Theorems, General Pseudo-Differential Operators, The Analysis of Linear Partial Differential Operators, 4vol., and Notions of Convexity. Hörmander earned the Fields Medal for his work on partial differential equations, in 1962 and the Wolf Prize, in 1988.
