This is an accurate account of my Grandfather, Tommy Piro, who passed away December 28, 1978; 6 years prior to my birth.
I was never able to meet him but I think about it all the time, that he would be so proud of me for continuing the music, having natural talent from such an amazing entertainer out of North Jersey and the Tri-State Area! Grandpa was known for playing the stand-up, fret-less double bass like a guitar; holding it up onto his thigh in his 40's band, The Solidaires! I really miss him and am glad to have found this.
Looking forward to writing a biography and to fill in whatever pieces are missing because I'd love for there to finally be something over the internet you can search about my truly blessed Grandfather, Tommy P! The original.
RIP Grandpa, I love you and wish you wer here to guide me through my struggles and listen to the music but you have definitely blessed me with natural talents that are at times, more than words could say! God Bless you.
