I was fortunate to be Grandma Vi's third great grandson; And because of her I have come to know what the word cozy really means...

From sitting next to her in an oversized recliner while she told me ghost stories, to staying overnight and waking up to the smell of her taylor ham frying in the pan at 4:30 in the morning, my cozy Wood Ridge memories had only just begun.

I believe for the first 5 years of my life I thought I was her only grandson, then my sisters were born followed by lots of cousins and later my younger brother... but I always felt like the only one because she made each one of us feel special and unique in our own way.

If I could go back to 1979 and do it all over again I would in a heartbeat; however, since that's not the case I'm happy with seeing her candy bowl on my coffee table, looking at all the old pictures from time to time, and frying up my own taylor ham in the morning, just not as early as 4:30 am!

Wood Ridge is not the same with her and her son Larry, but the house still stands, and the memories stand strong with it.
