He was a Lithuanian legendary boxer. Šocikas was known under nickname "ring gentleman". Throughout his professional boxing career he won the Soviet championship six times, the Lithuanian championship six times and the Baltic championship three times. When he ended active boxing career he became head coach of Lithuania's national boxing team, in 1957. He died following a prolonged disease on November 21, 2012 in Kaunas, Lithuania's second largest city.
