He was an Ukrainian historian and journalist. Professor Bohdan Osadczuk was a man of great influence on the deep process of the Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation.

Thanks to his receptiveness, wisdom, and numerous friendships with Polish and Ukrainian intellectuals he had a great impact on the shape of the dialogue between the two fraternal, neighbouring nations.

Poland acknowledged his eminence in 2001 by awarding Professor Bohdan Osadczuk with the Order of the White Eagle – Poland’s highest decoration.
