He earned his nickname "Timo" due to a resemblance to the Soviet commander Semyon Timoshenko.“Timo” Konietzka was known as the scorer of the first German Bundesliga goal, when, in 1963, he scored against SV Werder Bremen. Konietzka, which had received Swiss citizenship in 1988, ended his life through euthanasia, which is legal in Switzerland.
